I think I am scared about whom the Christians will choose as their replacement leader after John Paul II dies.

It is very strange because I never thought very much about it _consciously_. Sure, I discussed with friends the way they choose their people in the Church hierarchy, and how there is a big battle going on between the fascists and the progressive there.

But I thought I didn’t care much, I thought I knew the influence of the Church was waning, I thought I could care less and this was just entertainment for the bored and the religious.

But then I have had two nights of horrible dreams, where I WAS IN THE CURIA (!!! OMG OMG, Sacrilegious !!! but then I know quite a bit about the Christians so I was not out of place and knew what was going on. I even thought about getting baptized just for kicks).

There was a bishop who was trying to grope me in a nook and an arch-bishop helped me out and then, they were selecting the pope. I knew the one they were choosing was EVIL (in a Disney-like fashion, it was as if they were all under a spell). At one point, he transformed into a scissor and I threw a chewing-gum into its teeth so it couldn’t clip anymore. The arch-bishop, the one who had saved me, turned out to be an atheist like me (he was the one I wanted to see chosen and I didn’t even know he was an atheist! I guess we were both trying to monitor and influence the elections except he had made his way up the ladders). He told me he was leaving because his mission failed and we tried to make an exit together. Then I turned around and the pope-scissor was behind me smiling devilishly and clipping most furiously.

It was going for me, trying to put me under its spell, so I made a leap and closed the door behind me. There were people coming to know how the election turned out and I told them not to open the door, please don’t open it, but it opened up, either because the new pope was so mad after me or I didn’t close it carefully (I was really panicky you understand) or because the idiots thought I was mad and opened it…and then THERE was the scissor making its triumphal entry. And the world gasped… and then closed its mouth in horror and everybody was fleeing the mad mad old man in his white gown (by then he looked like the Pope whose latest gasping utterances have been a brutal reminder of the reality of death for many, including me).

Oh, and the second dream? I don’t remember it well, but I know it had to do with the same problem.

He does not realize that the point of speaking about the holocaust, slavery or misogyny is not to make people feel guilty about it. There was a “free car wash” today, offered by some kind of sect as “proof of God’s existence”. No really, I kid you not. They were washing cars for free to prove God’s love for human kind.

The reasoning must go like this: I wash your car for free because I love you and that love was inspired by my realization of the nature of God as an all loving being. Or something. I don’t actually understand this much.

I wonder how many karma points I would lose if I criticized the Dalai Lama. Would I go into instantaneous and painful death throttles? So, suppose I point out the fact that in 50 years of non-violence, the Tibetans have not obtained anything from the Chinese, many millions died, and during that whole time, the Dalai Lama was comfortably touring the world making the happy face to every world leader who, as soon as he had his back turned, made fun of him and his complacent kindness.

What about the fact that while he was planning his ideal constitution for an imaginary free Tibet of the future, several million Chinese colonized Tibet and now make up more than half its population, while depositing nuclear waste and building up nuclear plants in the country?

Why is the Dalai Lama such a gullible fool? He wants to make of Tibet Asia's Switzerland. Does he know that Switzerland is heavily armed and is one of the last European country to have mandatory military service and that its population must go through very demanding reserve periods all their life? People in Tibet were more realistic in the time. They had an army. How else could they maintain Tibet's independence?

I think it is time to denounce the Dalai Lama as an ineffective leader. Not that I care one bit about Tibet or the Tibetans. But it really irks me how everybody reveres that guy as a saint when all he has done up to now is go like a mendicant from courts to courts asking for help and getting nothing more than a little tap in the back and some good words that cost nothing. How ironic is it to see Westerners buying into his millennial Buddhist wisdom and his many books and those of his followers, when on the other hand they are too happy buying Chinese goods and are all very well aware his philosophy is not applicable in their daily life.

The Dalai Lama is a successful marketing concept. It doesn't hurt, it does nothing, but it sells books and good conscience to all of us. The message is simple: “Don't do anything for us Tibetans, we don't believe in doing anything in this world. Praise the Dalai Lama our great leader.” Eh, it is easy to be the Dalai Lama when you have hundred of devotees around you praising you and telling you how clever and wise you are.

They will have to reconsider their outlook, and, without any reference on which to rest their beliefs, with no special recognition by Society, they will finally realize they are mere privately owned, state-subsidized children's factories, whose sole reason to exist is to procure money-earning flesh that will finance their retirement and the retirement of others -- which BTW is the only justification for the tax-breaks and welfare support they get.

And the paradox finally comes here: those gays and lesbians who now marry will, in the future, not get the special, money-substantiated recognition that will go to baby producing couples. Except of course for those lesbians who get artificial insemination. How amusing. They starve for recognition, and will not get any. This is like inflation, the State prints so many marriage certificates that soon they will be worth nothing. I love that.

There is a cherry on the cake: With people shedding their illusions about the real purpose of breeding will logically come the industrialization of pregnancy and of that whole pain inducing labor process. Women won't have to go through having to bear some living being into their own belly (eew) and then expel it forcefully and dolorously through their vagina (ouch). I personally reject with the utterest disgust the idea of growing a parasite in my own body and welcome any progress towards artificial insemination and extra-uterine fetus growth.

At the moment, I am perfectly happy with the continued existence of those women who seem to enjoy the whole thing: get babies, girls, you seem to find that so exhilarating I wouldn't want to knock off your enthusiasm. Raise them, educate them, do that for a miserable tax-break, welfare benefits, or the love and protection of your husband (i.e. no pay at all, precarious living and emotional enslavement). You are so cheap I wouldn't want you to change your mindset.
